The design of the game features a straightforward theme. The setting is a mine shaft, and the only light source is a single lantern. Although it doesn't quite fit the topic, upbeat music lifts your spirits while you're playing and improves your attitude if you have a slow session.

The prospector is the Wild symbol, while the premium symbols pay between 4 and 10 times your stake for 5 of a kind wins. Randomly, all standard wilds can be upgraded to diamond wilds, which can also be used in place of the diamond symbols.

A monetary payout is awarded instantly when five to twenty diamond symbols or diamond wilds appear. The prizes are shown on the PiggyPays metre, which can be seen on the left. The PiggyPays metre fills up when less than 5 diamond and/or diamond wilds are landed. By default, all awards vary from 1x to 10,000x your bet, and this raises the prizes gained from 8–20 diamond symbols.

To start the Bonus Round, which awards 10, 20, or 50 free spins, you must have 3, 4, or 5 bonus scatters in view. During the feature, the PiggyPays metre is fixed at the current level and does not reset if a prize is won.
